About Kids HCAP
4 million Americans have quit playing golf since 2000. Unless a solution is developed to attract kids, golf as we currently know it will continue in a spiral decline. Today’s youth live in a digitalized world with the ability to complete tasks in mere seconds. The thought of investing four hours of time on a game that provides a tremendous amount of frustration and little self-esteem isn’t appealing.
Herbert Flores who founded KIDSHCPA and has spent the last 10 years traveling the world to attend Junior World Championships as the father and mentor of his daughters. During a tournament in Scotland, he began discussing his idea with members of one of the oldest golf courses in the world. They not only embraced Herb’s idea but offered their assistance and contacts with the Royal and Ancient Golf Club.
Once he returned to the United States, Herbert began assembling the necessary data and individuals who shared his passion for golf. Within a short time Randall and Herb had completed a working prototype that become a staple in the golf industry for the next one hundred years.
Next, Herbert and Randall reached out to the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law to tap into some of the most brilliant young scholars in America. Arizona State University provided us with the blueprint to successfully develop and market KIDSHCAP on a global basis.
We believe three important things will be accomplished with KIDSHCAP:
- Players can track their progress on a daily basis.
- Level the playing field so one kid can play another kid regardless of skill level.
- Inject FUN back into golf. The friendships and contacts that develop on golf courses not only create an instant bond but will provide kids with people skills that will last a lifetime.
